He was born in 1976 IN St John’s newfoundland,Canada.Moved over to France when he was 7, he Started learning guitar at 5.
He did classical studies for 10 years, studied with differents teachers folk,blues,rock,metal before going to Music Academy International of Nancy -France- where he got graduated in 1996.

About his musical CV :

- Got endorsement with Ibanez guitars in 1997 and opened Ecole de Guitare Ibanez Damien ROY in Saintes -France-.

-Played and recorded with many bands (ex : Booga, a pop rock cover band, with who he played around France and Europe).

-Recorded for NTV in Canada.

- Composed and recorded music for the CBC documentery:”Sun in my Hands” Springwater production.

He also organized many guitar clinics with Jennifer Batten -ex guitarist of Michael Jackson-, Patrick Rondat,Yannick Robert, Peter Nathanson, Jean Claude Rapin and else.

 He is a precious help for me, the first person who pose for me and believe in me as photographer, and the collaboration between us isn’t over.

Portraits of Strangers

Capture people’s portraits in street, to break the anonymity created by the crowd and get into the privacy of each person through their portraits.

I know this a subject have been done many times, but I must give my vision about it.
The fact of shooting people who are not prepared and selected on the fly, rather than a studio work, make the portrait much more intimate, simple and true. This is what I will show through this serie : people as they are, without artifice. Beauty is not made, she is in each one of us.

In parallel, I’m preparing a secondary work :

            Mea-Culpa

It’s a way to express what we can not say in society. People will share a fear, a pain, a shame, a confession… They will leave their witness without being judged, anonymously.

The Last one is a long time project :

            Road-Trip through Canada

This project is in preparation,  I give you the big lines.
It will be a documentary about a three-months trip across Canada in a cheap car bought on the spot, different subjects will be covered:

• Portrait

Interviews of different peoples met on the road, learn about them, their vision, their dreams ….

• Nature

A documentary about the country, centered on the Canadian wilderness.
